Tyrone, PA – April 27, 2024 – InspectionGo (iGo) proudly announces its hosting of the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming “Business After Hours” business networking event, scheduled for May 21, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event will take place at iGo’s headquarters located at 1010 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Business After Hours events are renowned for providing a relaxed yet productive atmosphere for chamber members and community business leaders to network and build relationships. iGo is delighted to offer attendees a chance to unwind with appetizers and beverages, courtesy of the company.
With iGo’s recent announcement of plans to hire over 25 new employees at its headquarters, extensive renovations of the historic property have been undertaken to accommodate the anticipated growth. Attendees of the event will have the exclusive opportunity to tour the newly updated first floor of the building, which will serve as the workspace for the incoming staff.
John Russell, CEO of iGo and owner of the properties, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “This is an exhilarating period of growth for iGo, and we are preparing for further expansion. Our commitment to revitalizing downtown Tyrone is a shared vision within the community, and we look forward to opening our doors and connecting with local leaders.”
A Tyrone native, John Russell is deeply committed to fostering economic development in his hometown. In a bold move to drive job creation and commerce, he chose to establish InspectionGo in Tyrone, rather than a more urban setting typical of technology companies. Russell acquired the historical properties at 1014 and 1010 Pennsylvania Avenue in 2014 and 2017, respectively, alongside several other prominent buildings along Pennsylvania Ave. Despite their state of disrepair, Russell invested one million dollars with the support of The Altoona Blair County Development (ABCD) Corporation (part of the Blair Alliance for Business and Economic Growth) into purchasing and remodeling these properties while preserving their historical charm. Russell currently serves on the board for the Blair County Alliance, and leaders from the Alliance will be in attendance at the upcoming Business After Hours.
In addition to housing InspectionGo, and in keeping with Russell’s passion for supporting the local community, these revitalized spaces have been utilized to support various community initiatives, including providing space for the Tyrone Youth Athletic Association (TYAA). InspectionGo is also the proud co-sponsor of the annual Backpack Giveaway in Tyrone and was honored with the 2021 Employer Award by the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA) for its exceptional contributions to the local community and dedication to working with individuals with disabilities.
