Governor Tom Corbett recently announced that Core Label, LLC, a leading manufacturer of beverage labels, will expand at its current facility in Blair County, adding at least 43 new jobs.
“My administration continues to work with our local partners to bring new jobs to Pennsylvania – today we celebrate 43 new jobs coming to Blair County,” Corbett said. “Core Label’s expansion continues the momentum building in our economy as businesses continue to grow and more Pennsylvanians are back at work.”
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group
of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with ABCD Corp.
Core Label, a manufacturer of beverage labels, will expand at its current site
in Snyder Township, Blair County. The company plans to invest more than $1.56 million on the expansion and will create 43 new jobs. The company currently has 50
employees at the site.
“It is refreshing to work with a county and state that are in such unison when it comes to job- supported business development,” said Don Mader, President and CEO of Core Label, LLC. “The professionals at the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation worked with the talented people from the Governor’s Action Team to provide our company with much-needed assistance supporting our growth efforts.”
The company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development including an $86,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $86,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $40,000 Guaranteed Free Training grant
to be used to train its new workforce. Assistance also included a $700,000 low-interest loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund to be repaid in 10 years.
“We have been working with the team from Core Label, LLC throughout the past year. We are extremely excited about today’s announcement and the creation of new jobs and investment here in the heart of the I-99 Corridor,” said Marty Marasco, president and CEO of ABCD Corp.
“We are thankful for the collaborative teamwork from our partners including Governor Tom Corbett, Governor’s Action Team and the Snyder Township Supervisors in making sure that this expansion project will occur in Blair County,” Marasco said.
