Numerous reports and publications are referring to the nation’s vast natural gas shale reserves as a “game changer” for the U.S. economy. The reports continually comment on the fact that the shale boom could spark a manufacturing resurgence creating millions of manufacturing jobs by the year 2025.
Further reports also indicate that the Pennsylvania Marcellus natural gas industry could become the leading supplier of natural gas in America over the coming decade. This is great news for Blair County as we sit at the “Heart” of the Marcellus and Utica natural gas plays!
ABCD Corp., as part of its overall strategic and operational plan, has emphasized collaborative efforts and a strategy to continue to take steps to leverage regional assets for economic growth and new investment. With this in mind we have created the Blair County Marcellus Shale Coalition. This group is comprised of industry leaders and experts dedicated to making sure Blair County is prepared to harness the economic development potential of the natural gas industry. Multiple efforts are being discussed and will be implemented in the near future.
