In early February 2013, American Eagle Paper Mills and Team Ten, LLC announced the appointment of Michael Grimm as American Eagle’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the board of directors. Mr. Grimm brings with him more than 23 years of relevant manufacturing to his new role.
Mike will be taking over the President/CEO position previously held by the original and first president of American Eagle, John Ferner, who provided tireless leadership since the beginning in 2003.
“Michael is an experienced, knowledgeable executive with a can-do, upbeat attitude, a hands-on leader, who has built and motivated strong teams to generate and sustain a competitive advantage. He is passionate, intelligent and truly cares about American Eagle’s employees, customers and the town of Tyrone. We welcome him with enthusiasm and high expectations,” said Delmont Sunderland, Team Ten, LLC board member and chairman of the search committee.
Mr. Grimm brings a broad manufacturing background with him to American Eagle. Grimm has spent many years of his career in the paper industry in numerous roles starting as an engineer with Meade Products and most recently as Executive Vice President and General Manager at North American Communications in Duncansville, PA. Before joining North American Communications he held several executive roles at Seton Company, a global automotive interiors supplier. During his term, Grimm served as Vice President and General Manager, Interiors Division; Vice President, Global Engineering and CIO and Director of Information Technology.
Mr Grimm earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Penn State University and has also completed several executive courses from both the Harvard Business School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Tyrone Hospital.
Mr. Grimm is a Tyrone native and currently lives with his wife Ieva, and two sons in Duncansville. “American Eagle Paper Mills has such a fantastic story of success and is a pillar of the Tyrone community,” said Grimm. “I am humbled at the opportunity to join the Tyrone team and lead the company into the future, to work hard at sustaining jobs for future generations.”
