In late October the I-99 Corridor welcomed a National Forum on SME Adoption of Additive Manufacturing at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, PA.
The Center for Innovative Materials through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D) at Penn State, in conjunction with America Makes, hosted the forum. The event focused on implementation opportunities for small to medium sized businesses and the I-99 Corridor Alliance participated in the event showcasing our region as a viable location for the additive manufacturing industry.
ABCD Corp. President and CEO Marty Marasco, Bedford County Development Association’s President Bette Slayton, and Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County President and CEO Vern Squier were on hand to discuss the site-selection advantages of the region. Squier was a guest speaker for the session “A Regional Additive Manufacturing Enterprise Concept” focusing on a regional approach to growing industry.
“Our region has a long history of successful collaboration amongst the three counties, their businesses and Penn State University’s students, faculty and industry research,” Marasco said. “We are excited about the University’s advancements with additive manufacturing and what this unique opportunity here in the I-99 Corridor will provide our current and future companies.”
