WIN Capital, LLC, a venture investment network based in Altoona, announced a gift of $5,000 to the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation for inclusion in the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation’s Economic Growth Fund. The contribution is intended to seed a new revolving loan fund and help support new local business ventures. “The members of WIN Capital are proud of successful business ventures which helped grow the entrepreneurial spirit and jobs in the region and wish the growth to continue,” said Bruce Jones, long-time WIN Capital member/advisor and in who’s name the contribution was made.
“Seed capital is the lifeblood for new start-up ventures. It can also support spin-out opportunities from legacy industry,” said Stephen McKnight, President and CEO of the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation. “We are very appreciative of WIN Capital’s contribution and continued support of start-up businesses throughout the Blair County First Frontier region,” McKnight added.
The WIN Capital group has been in existence for more then 20 years developing a diverse portfolio of business investments. WIN’s current direction is to make future investments as individuals while managing the several investments currently in the portfolio through to exit. Recognizing this change, ABCD helped to launch the First Frontier Investor Network. This new network was formalized in 2017 and has since helped to support several business start-ups to include a new video game launch and a novel road surface monitoring technology. Additional investments are currently under evaluation. To learn more about this network, click here: First Frontier Investment Network
